Jake's crazy work schedule came to an end on January 24. The week-long presentation that they prepared for and then presented was finally over. After 2 months of pushing himself to the limit, Jake was ready to crash! But I was ready for fun! That weekend a few of our friends were heading up to U of I for a little getaway, so we decided to join them. Even though Jake was tried, we decided a change of scenery was just what we needed.

We made arrangements for Mia to stay with Aunt Beth/Uncle Terry during the day and then spend the night at Grandma Jan/Grandpa Bob's. I know they were all excited to hang out with Miss Mia.

Our little trip was great! We had a chance to hang out with our friends and visit with our nephew Adam. Unfortunately, Lauren had gone home for the weekend, so we didn't get to see her. Best of all, Jake and I had some quality time together. We talked non-stop the entire drive there - it had been awhile since we had been able to connect like that and we took full advantage of our time together.
